antique three stone gypsy ring

Favored by many European women, we’ve always loved them and I wear mine stacked. The name derives from a setting popular in Victorian times. Concerned about theft and ostentation, wealthy Victorian women traveling between city and country houses, worried about bandits, preferred this flush mounting as the stones sitting flush were more difficult to steal. We currently have a few of these three stone rings set with lovely diamonds. Apologies for the Un-PC name. They are beauties eighteen carat yellow gold, size 6.5, ca. 1909.
